Day 1: Arrived to the ESF Ranger School and await for the rest of the students from Akwesasne to arrive. Once the entire group was assembled and the supplies were distributed, we all boarded two boats. The captains transported us across Cranberry Lake to Jannacks Landing. Once we arrived, we made camp at the 1 lean-to.

Day 2: We packed up our gear and tents and made our way to Cat Mountain. Once there, we dropped our packs and hiked to the top to enjoy the views at the look-out point.  We hiked back to our packs and made the long trek to our next stop at High Falls. The site was very busy with hikers and we fortunately found a spot to set up camp. The group enjoyed the scenery and falls, which were a stones throw away from our camp.

Day 3: In the morning, we took our time and packed up camp. The next stop was High Rock. The trail leading there was long and riddled with water hazards and marsh, thanks to all the beavers. Once to High Rock, the students enjoyed the water and the great views across the Adirondacks. Surprisingly there was only one other hiker at the site, which made it easy to spread ourselves out.

Day 4: This was the last day on our fieldtrip, and we had to meet at the end of the trail by noon. Once we broke down our site early in the morning, the group was ready to hike the last few miles to Wannakena. The trip was a blast and the students really enjoyed themselves.
